Where is the Chair?

5 possible reasons why the Chair has not posted recently....

1. He is busy doing fieldwork.

2. He has joined another metablog because he finds us too self-referential.

3. He's having an identity crisis - is tired of being THE CHAIR and is transforming into something else.

4. He's violated the Ethics Committee regulations and is too ashamed to face us.

5. There is no fifth reason.

Aye, Aggie, ye've lifted me out of me crusty mood.

6. Discovery is having a disaster marathon

Hmmm. A few puerile jokes about Canadian Tire, Mojomasters, and disaster marathons on the Discovery Channel and one of our errant XX members gets sniffy about testosterone. Whatsamatta w' th' lads? Enjoying your skill on the H$@&^g%%n ivories, by the way, Wag.

And yet I can't help noticing -- not too obviously, I hope, given recent exchanges -- that in a startling demonstration of synchronicity or symbiosis or perhaps some other word starting with 'sy' that I can't remember just now, doggy Alzheimer's being what it is when you get old enough to be a mythological coyote, that the lack of male hormonal activity in 5M's recent life has been amply rebalanced on this side of Heisenberg's equation, of its own independent accord, if only the poor girl knew...

So. I begin to wonder just how separate these respective sides of the equation are, really. In a world where a butterfly wingbeat in Bali is reputed to cause a tropical storm half a globe away, maybe we should be paying more attention to the implications of chaos theory, vis-a-vis the Muse & ourselves. Has an eyelash flutter somewhere along the line skewed things, d'ya think?

F*ck. First Heisenberg, then Schroedinger, then Newton, now Chaos. This is gettin' hideously complex for a poor old ur-doggy of small brain...

Interesting new look, Agatha. And an even more interesting source. Are you catering to the Dwarf's Freudophobia, or taking a back-handed swipe at the boys' club atmosphere?

Aha! Agatha gets her revenge! she has submerged her personality so deeply, she no longer appears as a visual image to the rest of us...which as you know, is the strongest way in which men reference and relate to women (SOME may say the ONLY way, but I'm willing to give a little leeway)...thereby, and somewhat ironically, asserting herself so brilliantly (all you guys will be mooning depressedly about, looking for Agatha) that she's triumphed completely! Pure genius Aggie! I salute you!

To answer a question: Mr. Pirate, of course I can read 5M's blog over here! and after I read her blog, I read yours', and laugh loudly...causing scientific necks to snap around over here in B7d@p&s$. And scientific eyes to glare. Hmmmpphhh. Just because THEY'VE forgotten how to snicker...

And further: I too have noticed the absent Chair. Is he pulling an Aggie? Chair: may I say, if you are trying to assert your superiority, personality-wise, by removing yourself from us, you've gone a bit too far. Take a lesson from the old bird. She did it just right...removing a part of herself only, just enough to tantalize and mock certain types of chromosonal presences. Yet she leaves important bits behind...proving simply and clearly her point, that being Agatha is, well, being if not best, then, better.
Ha!

So, Chair, come out, come out, wherever you are! Even if you do emerge as a lounger, a hammock, or something else.

Here, I must leave you. This will be my last missive from parts unknown. One parting easteurojoke: What did Mark Chapman say after being informed by police that he'd succeeded in murdering John Lennon, the great musician?
"John LENNON? LENNON? I meant to kill LENIN, and rid the world of communism."
Hey, don't blame me...it's still a big joke over here....

Reports of my asserting a sense of superiority through a lack of blogging have been greatly exaggerated.

Rest assured, I haven't been violating any EC guidelines as suggested by the image posted by Agatha. I don't even own a mojomaster.

Wag and others,
If you're seeing a blank square instead of an image of a beautiful dark-haired women with a cigarette holder where Agatha's picture should be, perhaps it is because your ISP is blocking it.

Chair, I'd lend you my mojomaster, but I seem to have misplaced it.

That'll happen in a dark mine, sometimes....
