New Friends for Coyote

The Ottawa Citizen reports that cougars have returned to Eastern Ontario.

Think you've encountered a cougar? Read this.

You don't want to be friends with the cougars? You have a lot in common. They're almost as elusive as you:

The team’s attempts to photograph cougars produced very little evidence. It set up cameras on likely sites and waited, but from 2008 to 2010 they got no clear cougar photos while shooting more than 154,000 frames of other animals. Just one infrared image was judged to be similar in shape to a cougar.

Ahem. Short Guy. That one infrared guy? Melvin. He's kind of an idiot.

I taught all of the other cougars everything they know about avoiding (infra)red light cams at my Continuing Ed lurking workshop. But Melvin? He was surfing LOLCats on WiFi the entire time.

I don't think I've seen any cougars around Elgin Street for a while. D'you suppose that has anything to do with Big Daddy's Crab Shack going under?

Heathen, I tried framing a considered reply to that question. I really tried.

But I think that any response linking cougars to crabs in any way is just askin' for some kinda trouble...

Looks like Melvin's been out in Beckwith.

You sure? Looks an awful lot like a sasquatch to me...

But then, so does Melvin.
