Zoom's Auction Status
posted by 4th Dwarf
Some ESIs think that Zoom is brilliant for auctioning part of her prize for winning the first Meta Contest. Others think she is stretching the spirit of the rules and wimping out. While we debate this, you, the innocent readers of the metablog, suffer. Why? Because today would have been the start date of the second Meta Contest, but we don't want it to be competing with the Auction.

I think some ESIs are brilliant for finding a way to run the auction live from your blog! Wow. That sure beats what I've been doing, which is sitting on ebay and hitting refresh over and over and over again.
Do you mind if I spend the next 4 day, 18 hours, 3 minutes and 53 seconds hanging out here?
Why not, Zoom? You're welcome anytime.
Interesting, too, that someone seems to want to say more than their five cents' worth... or is it an American bid, exchange-adjusted for our suddenly-heady Loonie?
At this point all the hot bidding action seems to be between someone in the UK and someone in Ottawa. Things will get really interesting when a third bidder comes into the picture.
And yes, Coyote, those are American pennies they're putting on the table.
That bid is getting pretty close to what the Petfinder pays for a story. Woohoo!
For what it's worth I think Zoom's EBay thing IS brilliant, and no readers are suffering because this is good reading!
Thank you Harmony. I like it when people defend my brilliance. :)
How bout that bluejunglist, eh? He just came out of nowhere and seized the lead. I don't think andrewrx and abacurial are going to let him get away with that. I predict there will be some vigorous bidding action over the next 24 hours. We might even surpass the 25 cent mark.
Is everybody else as excited as I am about bidding reaching .36? I think we've got some serious bidders involved in this thing - bluejunglist, x_pron, andrewzrx, abacurial - these guys aren't dabblers.
Call me crazy, but I'm expecting a last-minute bidding frenzy that will take this puppy well over the dollar mark!
I can't take the suspense any longer!
Only a couple more hours to go Aggie. We passed the critical $1 mark only moments ago. We're talking serious money now.
THAT WAS CRAZY!
We should do this more often.
