Remedies for post-vacation/end-of-summer blues

I'm back from the Riviera and am now dealing with the back-to-reality blues after days of lounging on the beach and having to make difficult decisions like: fresh scallops or mussels? get up at 11 or noon? SPF 30 or 40? Freshwater or saltwater swimming? Red or white?

I know after all of this I should not be feeling sorry for myself. But I am! Here are some things I'm doing and will do this evening to remedy my blues:

1) Making cranberry sauce with the cranberries I picked. This is making me feel productive, although they just boiled over on the stove, creating a big mess.
2) Clean up mess from cranberry sauce-making project.
3) Unpacking dirty clothes and sorting them into laundry piles. Not really fun, but keeps me busy.
4) Read trashy magazine. I still haven't heard what the deal is with Tom and Katie's baby.
5) Throw things out. It's garbage night.
6) Catch up on the blog. Still no sign of the 5M. I have a feeling she is going to pop up one of these days with a baby blog. They seem to be all the rage these days, but probably not something the ESIs would be interested in following.
7) That is all I've come up with so far. I'm open to other suggestions.

I think i have the same problem, ie lets just sillily kill time until winter. I don't wanna go out like that, how horribly depressing!!! How about:
1) Paint something, like a picnic table!
2) Do sudoku puzzles, i'm horribly addicted.
3) Listen to tom waits albums
4) Fear and explore the bog: http://www.ottawapolice.ca/en/serving_ottawa/media_room/news.cfm?nr_id=3397
5) Make/buy a composter and start saving your veggie scraps and hoards of wood chips.

Ok, thats what i want to do anyways.

Welcome back, Aggie!

I'm thinkin' that it shoulda been wild blueberry sauce. But, then, we coyotes have absolutely no sense of irony. Or come to that, even of colour vision....

I vote for Tom Waits, too. The Steinway out here in LalaLand was definitely drinking last night...

Can i suggest "Nighthawks at the Diner" on repeat, forever... or at least until winter. "things are tuff all over". Yes they are. The only sad part is when it ends. And thats why repeat is good. "I kinda want you to keep that dime... keep that dime as a souvenier. I want you to keep that dime as a soveneir of big joe...". Yes, it is good shit.

Crab spread!!?!?!? Is it real crab? Where do you get it? Please inform, if its that good i'll put it on sandwiches that i'm trying to eat more of.

Bob, with all the wholesomeness on this blog lately, I expect that Aggie went out with a crab fisher, caught the crabs herself, boiled and shelled them and made the spread.

As for me, I don't have end-of-summer blues to worry about. I'm happy that we're moving into temperatures where I'm not sitting in a puddle of sweat all the time.

Say, Chair, didn't you have a link to some Tom Waits?
